Scope and Content
This series is composed of minutes from Racing Commission meetings held May 1925 to April 1927. The minutes were created by the commission in order to maintain a record of its discussions of several issues: racing meet schedules, fees, and locations; licensing of jockies, trainers, and racing parks; pari- mutual betting, regulations, and general operating procedures. Several letters to the commission were reproduced in the minutes because they related to topics discussed in the meetings. This series reveals much concerning the functions and operations of the Racing Commission during its two year existence.
