Scope and Content
This compilation of photocopies on news clippings covers the campaign activities of incumbent Governor Norman Bangerter (Republican); his Democratic opponent Ted Wilson; and his independent opponent, Merrill Cook from January 1988 through July 1988. The clippings illustrate press perception of candidate standing in the polls and candidate views on taxation and budget, fund-raising, development, health care, education, and other issues of the campaign.

Processing Note
These records were brought to the Archives by former Governor Bangerter in September 1999. Archival processing was completed by A.C. Cone in December 1999. Filming was completed in March 2001 with the paper copies discarded following filming.
